Sunshine Blog Award!

I had a nice little message pop up on here today :D

I've been nominated for the Sunshine Blog Award by Emma at Beauty By Emma which came as an utter shock to me, as I'm still so very new to the whole 'blogging' concept.

So first of all, Thank you Emma ❤!

It has made my somewhat boring Sunday quite a lot less boring :)

There are a few simple rules:

1. Each tagged person posts 10 things that make them happy.
2. Choose 7 people to tag.
3. Let them know you have tagged them.

So here are my top 10 things that make me happy !

1. My boyfriend, cliché I know but I would be lying if he didn't claim pole positon ❤
2. My family and friends, we have our ups and downs like everyone but your family make you who you are. I'm including my cat in this; he is part of my family.
3. Art, I love to draw and paint.
4. The smell of fresh bread at the Supermarket :D
5. University
6. My job
7. Make-up!
8. Reading, I just love escaping to a whole new world.
9. Eating Healthy, I always feel pleased with myself if I manage this haha!
10.Nature, I love animals, wildlife you name it ❤

The Seven people I'll be tagging are:

A new book to read.

Over the Easter holidays I purchased the much talked about 'Hunger Games' series by 'Suzanne Collins'. Due to the film being released in March I wanted to read them before I saw it. For me films never really do quite manage to live up to any expectations formed from books. I prefer books anyway as they allow you to create your own experience, your own character appearance with the description given to you; it's much more personal to you that way.

Anyway, the books! The first book I have to say was very good, I didn't know what to expect with it being classed as 'teen fiction'. Having said that, I was also a Twilight bandwagon jumper when they came out so I thought I would just give them a go. So yes, the first I enjoyed quite a lot however the second and I have to also include the third for me just seemed to loose that edge that the first book provided. By the time I came to mid-way through the third book I found myself just wishing the pages away just wanting to know what happens so that I can proceed to start my next series. There was nothing that kept me enticed, which is a shame as that section of the book was the ultimate outcome with the battle between the Capitol and the Rebels, the finale as it were.

So yes, first book was great however the second and third sadly lost momentum for me.

I have however a new book to read, yay! This is called 'Fifty Shades of Grey' by 'E L James’; I picked this up at work when it was book of the week at half price. I tend to do abit of research before I buy my books, I don't like my money to be wasted however the cover, blurb and of course the price caused me to make an impulsive buy!

I intend to do a review on this book in the future, so stay tuned!

Fingers crossed for great bed time reading.

Art! :)

Here is another piece of my work, not completely self inspired, but all drawn and painted by me. I just ended up googling trees and abstracts and found several images that gave me a few ideas, this was the result.

It was painted using acrylics, which I have to say I never seem to get along very well with, I much prefer oil paints as I have more control over them. Acrylics also dry too quick, so I have to think fast with my painting, I'm not one to be rushed.

I hope people like it!
