Maybelline Ambre Rose

I hope I find everyone well on this nice evening; it has finally stopped raining here after what seems like forever! What on earth has happened to summer this year?

I'd just like to say that yesterday was my birthday and despite the rain I have to say I had a truly lovely day. I'm looking forward to showing all of you a few items that I had which made my day extra special!

However, onto the topic of today's post! Today I'm featuring a new lipstick that I purchased for a grand total of £1.99 instead of a RRP of £6.99, what a bargain! This being the Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in the shade 'Ambre Rose'. I purchased it from a website called Fragrance Direct, however I have noticed that they have sold out of this shade now so I'm glad I didn't hang about in my decision to buy it.

The packaging on these lipsticks is extremely similar to the popsticks of which I did a review of here. The lipstick looks a lovely shade of pink, with peach and coral tones to it. To me at first it looked a bit darker than I had originally thought it would be, however, I quickly changed my mind once I had swatched it and then applied it to my lips.

Here you can really see the peach tones come out! It is also worth mentioning that this lipstick has a lovely shimmer to it, once I wiped this off I was left with tiny bits of sparkle.

I love this shade quite a lot, especially as I did purchase it offline not really knowing how it would turn out. I'll be looking out for more of this shade on Fragrance Direct as I will want to stock up on it!

  7. Very pretty peachy colour :) Maybelline make some really good lipsticks, though my favourite drugstore lipstick brand is still Revlon. You got it at a really bargain price though!

    1. I haven't yet used Revlon Lipsticks unless you would class the lip butters as lipsticks? (I love those by the way).

I've just two Maybelline lipsticks and I love both so I do think they are worth buying.
