My June Favourites

Today's post is going to be a round up of my top five favourite products I have been using this month, I only feature products that I really have loved using! I cannot believe that we are at the end of June already, where is the year going everyone?!

So here we have it, my top five items!
So here is my two penny's worth on each product.

Revlon Photoready Eye Primer and Brightener

The Revlon Photoready Eye Primer and Brightener I have been using just over one month now and I've been really impressed with it so far. Remember it is not a concealer, it helps to prime your eyes before any eye shadow, eyeliner etc as well as adding illumination to the eye area; it comes in just the one shade 003. I think this works pretty well and I would at the moment happily re-purchase. It retails at £9.99 which isn't too expensive but it isn't budget friendly either, it's best to grab it whilst on offer.

Maxfactor Masterpiece Colour Precision Eye shadow

This eye shadow is something that I have had for a while now (it is probably close to it's best before date but I'm finding it is still working fine). The eye shadow is a cream formula with a wand for application however, I tend to not use this on my eye lid as instead I use it as a highlighter for my brow bone; it looks so lovely! I have the shade called 'Pearl Beige', of which there are five other shades available. They currently cost £6.99 which I don't think is too bad.

Garnier BB Cream for Oily and Combination Skin

I don't think I need to mention this product too much, readers of my blog will know that I love it!
I did a recent review on it if people want to take a look.

MAC Lipstick in 'Plink!

Again, this is another product that I have featured on here. I won this in a competition and it was first MAC lipstick, I love everything about it and I really want to be venturous and buy some more!

Leighton Denny Nail Polish in 'Plush Pink'

Last but certainly not least is the free Leighton Denny nail polish which was in this month’s Bazaar Magazine. Again this brand was new to me and I was really intrigued, I had never seen this brand 'blogged' about before. I really have loved using this polish but they are quite pricey at £11 each! I find that they apply fantastic and dry quite quickly, I'll most definitely be looking out for these in magazines again! If anybody would like to have a look at it on you can do so here on my blog post featuring it.

American Apparel Nail Polish

Today this is a very quick post but I really wanted to share something with you all that I spotted today whilst in the Bullring in Birmingham.

Whilst I was in Selfridges with the boyfriend this morning (for a change it was him dragging me round the shops haha), I spotted this glitter nail polish on the American Apparel stand; it is called 'Galaxy Glitter' . Oh my days, I need this polish, I love glitter polishes so much! I refrained from buying it as I'm cutting back at the moment but I will try and purchase a bottle of this sometime in the future. The link I have added states the price of £9 but today they were priced up at £7 or three for £17.

I adore the huge chunks of colourful glitter in this varnish, it would be so pretty on I'm sure!

Some cute pieces.

We've just had a huge amount of rain fall from the sky! I also woke up to a thunder storm this morning, the sky outside was so dark it was like night time...so weird but very cool!

I would like to share with you all today a couple of items of jewellery that I have purchased (this was before my spending ban I might add). Aside from beauty products I absolutely love jewellery, I really want to start making some small items but I'm not entirely sure how to get into it. I did visit hobby craft at the weekend and the prices of beads etc are crazy, however I know that probably wasn't the best place to go as they can be quite expensive.

Anyhow, onto the items!

The first item is a bracelet I picked up from Dorothy Perkins in the sale for £2. I chose the mint green one and I also got one in peach for my sister, I love these bracelets.

They are the type which requires you to pull either side, which is ok with two people but I find it quite difficult on my own haha! I need more practice.

My second item is something that I purchased off eBay on a whim really. I liked it a lot, however it had to be shipped over from Hong Kong and I was dubious as I had never ordered anything from so far away before; I thought it might have got lost. Oh was I wrong! It arrived within one week, I was so shocked and my opinion was changed, I need not worry so much next time.

I ordered an owl necklace for 99p along with 50p p&p, I thought that if it did get lost at least I haven't spent too much; here is a link to the seller. It arrived in a little red gift box with a silver bow on which I thought was a lovely little touch.

I really like this necklace, the gems are really quite sparkly and for the price I paid I really cannot find any faults with it; it's perfect!

Wishful Wednesday #4

Yay to a 'Wishful Wednesday' post at a decent time for a change. Here are a few items that I have been lusting after this week!

Rib V Jumper by Boutique.

I have wanted a large baggy white jumper for what feels like an eternity! I really do like this, I would love to wear it with my favourite jeans; I'm very much a casual kind of gal. I found this online at Topshop, retailing at £50.00.

OPI Nail Envy.

My nails at the moment are so weak and damaged; it is no doubt because I keep painting them constantly. I have the awful habit of biting my nails so to prevent this I paint them, I can't not have them painted. This has caused my nails to become so fragile, I really need something to strengthen them and OPI Nail Envy seems to keep cropping up when I search for good nail care products. It is however quite pricey, I know at Boots here in the UK it costs £18.65...yikes!

African Honey and Beeswax Hand and Foot Butter.

I have had the pleasure of using this before and it is utterly divine! It smells so so good and feels so luxurious, it works wonders too! This can be purchased from the Body Shop and it costs £10, which with all the offers that they e-mail me I'm sure I would never end up paying the full price for it. I recently had an e-mail for 40% off everything online, I'm sure many of you did too!

Sporty Nylon Cross Body Bag.

I really like the colours in this bag; I love the neon yellow against the brown along with the gold fittings. This is from Accessorize (I love that shop!) and it costs £30.00, however at the moment it is in the sale for £20. I think this is a perfect summer bag for when you don't need to have much on you, just your purse and lippy.

MAC Please Me Lipstick.

After receiving and using my very first MAC lipstick very recently I have to say that I'm hooked! I've been looking at more and more shades and I have decided that Please Me is the next one that I would like to obtain....look out Mac counter I'll be coming your way!

What has everyone else had an eye on this week?

Mini Haul!

Lack of posts again it feels like, I want to blog loads I'm just running out of time each day, hope you all don't mind or wonder where I've got to!

I'd like to share with you all my most recent and last (for a while) haul. I've decided to save some money for a bit as I've got some birthdays coming up, as well as having more products than is necessary I feel that I should to come to a halt for a few months on purchasing new products (I'm sure we've all been there!).

Anyhow, my most recent items that I have purchased are nail polishes; I just cannot get enough of them! I picked up three Revlon nail polishes for £5 at the beginning of last week.

The Blue Mosaic caught my eye straight away in the shop. I have two other Revlon nail polishes already that have the glitter inside and I adore them so I just had to get Blue Mosaic! Oh My Magenta is a lovely shade of pink with tones of blue inside, it really is nice. Whereas Lilac Pastelle is much more soft and natural, this is also a lovely shade that I have worn over the past few days.

As I have mentioned though, I like my glitter therefore I have used Blue Mosaic a couple of times already with the following combination.

I've mentioned this Collection nail polish before, it is BMX Bandit and I really do like it, however, it is a shame as I feel it can chip quite easily.

Wishful Wednesday #3

I've felt so out of the loop today, I didn't even realise it was Wednesday! So here is my rather late 'Wishful Wednesday' post; I hope you all enjoy.

1. Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

I don't know much about this product yet, all I know is it appears to be so very popular amongst bloggers. From my experience with products that gain hype through this way I have found them to be very good products indeed, such as the Revlon Lip Butters and Beehive by 17.

The product is advertised on Feelunique, with the following:

'Inspired by the "elixir of youth" used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, Caudalie Beauty Elixir smoothes features, tightens pores and provides instant burst of radiance to the complexion'.

I'd quite like to give this product a try! It varies in price depending on the size of the product you purchase, I've seen the 30ml for roughly £10 with the 100ml reaching just below £30.

2. MUA Undressed Palette.

I've wanted this ever since I saw it advertised a few weeks back, I also have seen it reviewed on a post by Emma, where she compares it to the Urban Decay Naked Palette...it looks so close it is unreal! For £4 I'll certainly be picking one of these up!

3. Camera Pendant.

This little gem is from Accessorize and I think it is really cute and fun, I would love this! These necklaces costs £8, but remember they do student discount, yay!

4. Cut-Out-Disc Friendship Bracelet.

This again is from Accessorize with the cost of this bracelet being just £4. I really like these types of bracelets; I think that they always look so effortless.

5. Revlon Photoready Cream Blush.

I really cannot wait to get my hands on these! I keep checking my local Boots but to no avail so far. I don't own any cream blushes, so these will be my first that I purchase. They come in three shades at the moment, I'm quite liking all three...uh oh! These currently cost £7.99; I couldn't find the price out so I had a live chat with Rita off the Revlon site who informed me of the price.

MAC || Plink

First of all, I would like to say hello and thank you to my new followers!

I recently was very, very lucky to win a MAC Lipstick of my choice in a giveaway competition held by the lovely Emma. I honestly thought I stood no chance what so ever, so waking up to an e-mail from her last week was truly shocking, I was so excited and quite overwhelmed! (I even woke my boyfriend up next to me to say I had won...I got some slurry 'well done' in response haha). I must admit I felt strange knowing somebody had to buy something for me. I had to double check with her that she still wanted to do it and of course she did, she's far too kind! :)

My chosen shade was 'Plink!', which I had read was a nice natural tone of pink. This type of shade was perfect for what I was after as I wanted something nice and natural that could be worn every day.

So when I got home on Monday afternoon I was so excited to see my prize had arrived! Emma had sent me my lipstick all nicely packaged with little glitter stars and a lovely card with a 'little boat sailing' on it, so thoughtful!

How cute are those stars?! Such a lovely added touch, I felt quite special opening it up!

I'm so grateful to Emma, I really do love this lipstick, it is so nice on and I can now see why people like these so much...I could quite easily become addicted, in fact, I'm already eyeing up new shades!

Here is a swatch of the shade!

Once again, I need to say thanks to Emma. The competition was so nice in the first place and to become the winner was more than I ever expected, thank you!

New Garnier BB Cream

I thought I would share with you guys my most recent purchase that I'm L.O.V.I.N.G!
This being the new Garnier BB Cream for combination to oily skin. I mentioned this in my last post but at the time I hadn't used it properly on my face; I had only tested it out in the shop.

I chose the shade 'light' as I'm quite fair skinned and I had previous knowledge of my disaster with their first BB Cream which I found far too dark for my skin. This product is currently on promotion at Boots, with the offer being 2 for £15 on selected Garnier skin care products, the full retail price is £9.99 (please note that this promotion may have ended upon your time of reading this).

As you can see here I have included the products 'claims' as it were, it advertises that it provides anti-shine, it helps to blur pores and imperfections as well as even tone and moisturise. Along with this there is the added bonus of SPF 20 UV protection which is something I have been looking for as my current foundation has 0 SPF! :'(

I was quite nervous to use this at first! I've been stuck with my old foundation for a while now as I'm so used to it I was scared to try something so different, yet to my surprise it was pretty close to what I ordinarily use except so much lighter and more easy to apply.

The actual product I feel is quite 'runny', this makes it lovely to apply and don't be scared if you have oily skin like me, it dries quickly and is really matifying, which I guess is the whole purpose of this new release. I really do love it!

I'm not quite sure if this picture does the product complete justice, but here this product is blended into my skin. On your face I really do feel that it helps to even out tone as well as hideaway pores. I kid you not, when my mom saw me on the evening that I had used this, bearing in mind I had put it on in the morning she said that my skin looked smoother (she didn't know I had it on)...bonus!

I think this product also lasts very well, so far I've found it stays on throughout the day. I do however use a primer before hand so this no doubt has some kind of influence.

Overall, huge sighs of relief for me as I was struggling to find a BB Cream that I liked. I'll give it another few weeks to see how I completely get on with it but first impressions are really good!

Wishful Wednesday #2

I haven't been to bed yet so this is an extremely early morning post. The reason being is that I'm busy all day tomorrow, I mean today... so I most likely won't get chance to blog until later on in the evening and I really wanted to put up a 'wishful Wednesday' post as I've spotted some great things this week!

Here are my top 5 things I've spotted.

1. Dorothy Perkins Top.

I love, love and love this a bit more! It's so cute and feminine and if you decide to click on the link, you can see how pretty it is at the back. This top retails at £26.00, which at the moment is a bit steep for me, I'm cutting back on things that I don't really need. I love all these light, soft blouses at the moment though so I'm quite inclined to ask for this for my birthday.I especially love the whole vintage bird cage look and the little flowers!

2. The Snood.

I've only stumbled upon this today and again, I think it is just too adorable. Here, this is a close up view of the design......I need it! This snood costs just £10.00 at River Island; I think this is quite a good price as it is so unique.

3. Flora by Gucci as part of the Garden Collection in 'Gorgeous Gardenia'.

I popped into Boots a couple of days ago and I smelt a sample of this, it's divine! If I remember rightly there are currently five different scents within the Garden Collection. The prices do vary with £49.00 for the 50ml at Boots and £72.00 for the 100ml, they're new fragrances so they will probably be similar prices elsewhere; however I haven't yet looked for better deals. This is really not cheap at all, but it is so very nice.

4. MeMeMe Flawless Finish Cream Foundation.

I saw this on a review I watched today by Zoe, take a look at her blog, it is great! This brand has kept me intrigued before, however I haven't tried anything by them previously. When my current foundation runs out I'll be popping down to Superdrug to have a look at this. The price of this will currently set you back £12.50, not too bad at all if it works well on your skin. I don't mind paying a bit extra for foundation as it's a rather important factor in your make-up regime.

5. No7 Glitter Nail Polish Top Coat.

I've seen this pop up on a few blogs over the past few days and I'm quite impressed with the results people are having. Boots are once again giving out the £5 off vouchers so this could be a really good offer to take up. These cost a little more than their usual line of varnishes at a price of £8.00.

So once again, I'm off in fantasy land wishing for lovely products and clothes!
Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Hot Cloth Cleansers

Tonight I'm going to mention a quick post about hot cloth cleansers, of which I aim to do a full review of next week or just after once I have had a good week or so using my latest purchase.

Ok so, as most of you will expect, the most raved about Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser will be featured here, as well as my new find....No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser. Now, the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser was on a promotion during the week that I was away, my boyfriend bless him wasn't able to take up the promotion for me at the time as the site wasn't working properly for him. Whilst I was away in Scotland however I found out that my friend uses  Liz Earle products and whilst we were talking about them she offered me a free travel size bottle of the cleanser which she had never used as well as a new muslin cloth....a very happy and grateful Amy!

Anyhow, I have been using Liz Earle since I got back and I have to say I really do like it. however, at £14.25 a pop for 100ml I have been inclined to look elsewhere just in case; this is where Boots come in! Now, I read some reviews on the No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser before I purchased it and it sounded pretty darn good I have to say. The full price of this product for 200ml is £10.00, however, I had a £5 off voucher which Boots seem to just be giving away which made the price just £5....how could I say no?!

I have used this for the first time tonight and I can't tell any immediate difference at all between the two, having said that I could wake up tomorrow with horrendous break outs....we will soon see! My skin feels just as soft and clean as it does with the Liz Earle product. The muslin cloth you receive with the No7 perhaps isn't as smooth as that provided with Liz Earle however these can be purchased from Liz Earle online separately if people so desire. The reviews I read about the No7 muslin cloth were relatively negative however; I thought it wasn't too bad at all!

Bazaar Magazine Freebie!

Is everyone enjoying the great British weather?! Rain, rain go away!

Here is something to brighten up the day a little, a free Leighton Denny Nail Polish with this month’s Bazaar magazine. I was out with the intention of picking up one of the other magazines with the Ciate polishes in, however, I saw this first! I've never purchased this magazine before and to be honest, I don't intend to again...put it this way; it isn't exactly your average Jo's magazine! (You need lots of money with the content shown inside!).

Anyhow, it had a great free gift which is why I purchased it this month. There are three shades of the Leighton Denny nail polishes available, I chose 'Plush Pink'.

These polishes retail at £11 each and you can purchase them at Marks&Spencer of all places (I did a bit of ‘googling’ when I got home). The magazine is on the rather expensive side, a whopping £4.20, but I think it was worth it as I got to try out this new nail polish.

Here it is on, my nails are still in the long process of growing, so please excuse their shortness. You get the idea of the colour though which is why I took the picture. The polish itself goes on lovely and you really only need one coat for decent coverage, it also dried very quick. I have on two applications herehowever as I failed to put on a top coat last night, I chipped it this afternoon whilst being a domestic goddess haha!

Wishful Wednesday #1

1: A Cutey Shamballa Bracelet! I adore these soooo much! I've seen many different brands with these in various shops and online, I will most likely go with Cutey if I buy one.

2. Essie Nail Polish! I read about these all the time on various blogs, they certainly sound great.

3. Mac Lipsticks! I'm a Mac virgin so far and the first item I buy from them will be a lipstick...just need to get myself to town!

4. Babycham Sherbet Polka Dot Cork Wedges! These are so cute, there are other similar ones too by Babycham, I found it hard to decide on my favourite.

A relaxing and beneficial bath!

As a few people may have read, I very recently have arrived back home for the summer break. One of the major benefits of this for me besides getting to be with my family, boyfriend and my cat is that there is a bath! Where I live at university I have just a shower in my bathroom with no bath, so I miss it incredibly when I'm not at home; you just cannot beat a good soak!

Picture sourced from 'The Telegraph'.
Last night I spent way too long in my bath reading my book, it was so relaxing!

Baths are really great and you can do so many things whilst in them, such as listen to music, use nice bath oils and candles as well as reading. Baths also have many health benefits whereby your muscles relax, your whole body receives a good moisturise along with the clearing of your lymph system.

I wasn't entirely sure what our 'lymph system' was or what it did so I did a bit of research, here is what I found out from 'BlessedHerbs'.

Lymphatic vessels across our bodies act as a drainage system. They are not powered by the beat of your heart such as blood but rather by the movement of our muscles. Within these vessels excess fluid from blood is found, along with hormones, nutrients and waste products of cells such as bacteria. When the lymphatic system becomes overly toxic, they can leave a great deal of unprocessed waste throughout our body. This can lead to a weak immune system, frequent colds, and an overall cloudy & weighted feeling throughout the body.

I've also taken a little information from 'Sunflower Naturals':

Increased circulation of the lymph system required for the sweating process helps to clear the system of toxins and create a free-flowing system to remove toxins, bacteria and viruses from the body. The lymph system is the system responsible for stimulating immune response. Hot baths help increase lymph drainage and improve health.

Making your bath hot can lead to a sweat! Gross you may think, but actually, this is a good thing!

One of my other favourite things to do to relax is to sit down on the sofa with a nice cup of tea with maybe a biscuit or two...or three.

Jubilee Inspired Painting and my new ring!

I have had a free day today, my last day in my University city before I go back home. I'm looking forward to going back; I haven't been home since Christmas, it feels like such a long time ago.

So, today here is painting I did, inspired by Jubilee themes. I wanted something quite simple as I also have had to pack up my stuff today and I wanted to have this finished before I leave tomorrow.

I kind of just stuck with a London theme overall, not much is more British than a red telephone box! I added the crown as the "Queen" aspect and the colours are clearly red, white and blue.

Also today, I popped into Boots and their jewellery stand had a few items up for sale. I picked up a lovely dress ring which was priced at £1.50; it should have been £5. I'm not normally a dress jewellery buyer,  I tend to hesitate as items I have purchased before have broken...namely New Look! I never buy jewellery from there anymore.  However, I really did like this and I have never tried Boots before in terms of their jewellery so I thought I would give them a go.

I really like this; I like how cute it is! It actually fits me quite well too, which I find is another bug bare of mine with dress rings! Whether they are small, medium or large I always have difficulty in finding a decent fit, either they're too big and they fall off, or they appear to fit yet are in the end still too big once on and they swizzle around your fingers or....they're way too small and you can just about get them on your pinkie!

Anybody else have these issues with dress jewellery or is it just me, maybe I have bizarre fingers?
