Travel Make Up Bag!

Now, as some of you may know I frequently up sticks and head off to Edinburgh for a week every now and then. Tomorrow just happens to be one of those occasions, therefore I’ll be heading up north after my morning lecture in order to see my boyfriend, I cannot wait! It has been two whole months and one week since I last saw him, it is looooooong overdue.

Anyway, I have wanted to do a post like this for a while however I just have never ended up getting around to it but today I was prepared! I took some photos of my make up that I plan to take away with on my Edinburgh trip whilst on my two hour break from my dissertation, it was nice to do something else let me assure you! It has felt like ages since I sat down and took some pictures for my blog. After banging out just short of 2,000 words in one day yesterday I was feeling pretty positive today.

So, here is the make up that will be accompanying me to snowy Edinburgh tomorrow.

In the background is my amazingly cute Joules make up bag, which can fit all of that in surprisingly well!

So, first up is my Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation which I do like quite a bit however I have to say my heart is still with the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. I'm very close to running out of that though hence using something else for now. My shade is 51 and I must say it has been the best match I have found for my skin tone so far. I also have the Healthy Mix Concealer here which I prefer to the Collection 2000 one....you all know which one.

I'm also taking the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast High Definition Collagen Coat Mascara...what a mouth full! I've had this a few months now and considering it is now my only mascara I own I'm stuck with it, however luckily enough for me I do like it even though the smell is a bit strong for my liking.

I'm also packing the Dainty Doll blush that I picked up from Fragrance Direct the other week, this is in the shade 'Money Talks' whereby I use this for contouring, I say that like I’m a pro haha but I’m such a novice at it. Along with this I'm taking the new Sleek Blusher from the Aqua Collection, which I’ve fallen in love with; think rose gold similarity but pink. Stay tuned for a review on this next week as I'm scheduling a post dedicated on it. For my highlight I have decided to take the Topshop Crescent Moon as it is rather darn good.

My Maybelline Colour Tattoo is one of my most favourite products as it is just so easy to use! Of course it is in the shade 'On and On Bronze' as this is my favourite and the most practical out of the entire range. To go along with this I'm pairing it up with the Soap and Glory Smoulder Kohl Pencil in Cocoa Bean (see a swatch of this here) as together these look really nice! I'm also trying brown eyeliners out at the moment as a bit of an experiment for a softer look. The last item for my eyes is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Eye Pencil in ‘nude’; this really makes my eyes look much more awake.

Last but not least my two lip products of choice for my stay up north are both by Revlon, of which the Lip Butter 'Peach Parfait' makes an appearance along with a new product (I think) the Colourstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 'Womenswear'.

I hope I haven't forgotten anything!

    1. I wore so many layers there it was beyond freezing!!
You should definitely get yourself some of the Bourjois foundation, it is such a nice product. I'm not as keen on the Soap and Glory make-up products but they do have some nice bits and bobs.

Thank you, I had a lovely time :) xx

I can't believe you fit all those products into that bag! I think make-up bag packing is like Tetris sometimes haha. Have a great time in Edinburgh! Xo

  10. Okay first of all, a moment to appreciate the bag itself: it's gorgeous!!

As for the items, all look lovely. I haven't seen the Bourjois 123 foundation here in Canada, but I have seen Healthy Mix Serum, which I desperately want to try, but can't quite justify (yet) as I have 5 foundations on the go.

I wish so much that I could find Dainty Doll in Canada, but I've only been able to spot it online. I'm a little weary of ordering cosmetics online until I've seen and swatched in person first, but perhaps I'll take the plunge some day.

I'm also getting into wearing brown liner for a softer look during spring and summer :)

Great post hun, definitely spotted some goodies I may add to mine like the Revlon Lip Butter :)

    1. The Healthy Mix Serum is sooooo good, you must justify it! :P

To be honest the dainty doll stuff is ok but for me it is nothing to rave about, I'm glad I didn't pay full price.

Revlon lip butters are amazing! :D

      xx

    2. Glad to hear I'm not missing out too much on Dainty Doll then!! That's super helpful to know, nothing worse than ordering stuff and feeling like your money's been wasted! I'll save for some other goodies instead ;)

I think once summer is closer I'll justify Healthy Mix Serum since it is fairly light coverage. I also want to wait to buy my shade; I tend to tan rapidly in the summer and get much darker than my pasty white winter self lol... All this to say, yeah, I've been convinced to buy it.

Stocking up on some lip butters this weekend!

    3. Tell me about it, I've purchased a number of things and then lived to regret it haha!

Yep it is rather light coverage, builable to an extent though. I'm sure you will love it just as much as me...I hope! :)

ooo Lip butters, I now own 4 and I want more xxx

    4. Any recommendations for me? ;)

    5. Hmm, well I own Sugar Frosting, Peach Parfait, Strawberry Shortcake and Watermelon.

To be honest Sugar Frosting is rather pale, for me it just adds a shimmer to my lips whereas Strawberry Shortcake is a lovely girly pink. Watermelon is much more red and Peach Parfait is a gorgeous shade that for me is suitable for every day :)

I want to pick up Berry Smoothie next I think. I advise taking a look at some swatches online as there are so many nice colours to choose from xx
