REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser Review

Today I'm featuring a product that in the year I have been blogging has managed to creep all the way up to being one of my all time favourite products, a claim that I cannot make often.

The REN ClearCalm Clarifying Clay Cleanser* is a clay based cleanser which in conjugation with the other products in the range aims to combat the three main causes of breakouts and those pesky blemishes, of which these are the building up of dead skin cells, excess sebum and blemish causing bacteria. Sounds fantastic right...let me tell you, it is!

The REN ClearCalm Clarifying Cleanser retailing at £18 is a product that I have being using for a number of weeks now roughly about twice a week. As I've never had a clay based cleanser I was really intrigued to try it as the only clay based products I have ever used prior to this were masks which I left on for a set number of minutes and then washed off. I started to use this not knowing what it would be like, suffice to say if you can fall in love with a skincare product then here is my lover.

To use this I apply it on to slightly damp skin and gently massage it into my face, I do find that only a minimal amount is needed of this so I know this huge tube at 150ml will last me quite a while. After massaging this in for as long as I like I rinse it off with warm water using a flannel as I find this much easier to take off products like this, plus they retain the heat.

One thing I have noticed is that generally clay based products can leave the skin feeling quite tight and screaming out for a little moisture, whereas this product here could not be any more different. My skin after using this feels so nourished and moisturised even before my moisturiser comes into play, my skin also looks so fresh and clean and more importantly clear; it is an absolute delight to use. The product itself is so light and incredibly gentle on my skin, to the point where I'm still impressed at how soft it is when I come to using it. To me the texture of clay in general can be rough and to an extent slightly scratchy whereas this is so unbelievably soft. I really do recommend this product as I believe it would be lovely for those with oily/combination skin as well as those who also have sensitive skin.

Since using this in conjunction with a few Clinique products and Liz Earle I have noticed quite a few improvements in my skin, so much so that I will be doing a post on this in the coming weeks.

I can one hundred percent say that this is something I will be buying for myself in the future as I have been thoroughly impressed by this product. One last thing to mention about REN before I completely fall head over heels in love with the brand is that they do not test on animals nor do they stick any nasty ingredients into the products as they are free from parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, silicones and a number of other things we don't want.

The REN ClearCalm Clarifying Clay Cleanser can be purchased from Beauty Expert.

*Pr sample, this product was kindly sent to me for consideration.
