July Favourites

July has been a busy month for me, I've felt rather rushed off my feet to say the least! Therefore I find myself quite surprised that I'm managing to get my July Favourites post up a few days before the end of the month, woo hoo!

I've recently picked up a few things from the Good Things skincare range as they have been on offer in Boots and Sainsbury's. The Creamy Cleanser has become a frequently used product ever since I picked it up earlier on in the month, in fact, I would say I've used it every day. I think it is really nice for the morning which is when I tend to use it as it leaves my skin feeling refreshed after waking up. I'll be doing a full review on this in a few weeks time.

As I suffer from hay fever my eyes can go a little irritated and puffy, therefore I've being reaching for the Yes to Cucumber soothing eye gel to help ease the irritation. This little product has been a little saviour I must say. The cool gel really calms down any puffy areas, leaving my eye area much more refreshed and calm. I tend to leave this in the fridge to go extra cool!

Next up is my Satsuma Body Mist from The Body Shop. I really love this stuff and I've found myself using it so much throughout this month that I'm nearly half way through it. It smells utterly divine, a perfect fresh and fruity scent to spray on after a shower or bath.

Last but not least is my new Kobo e-reader! I never ever expected myself to enjoy reading off an e-reader as I'm a book girl at heart. I love front covers of books with their beautiful images and nice fonts, along with the unique smell of books and each turn of the page I really thought I wouldn't adapt to something so different, yet I have to say after having this for just less than two weeks now I've really found myself liking it. I've only got a few books on there at the moment as I still have so many paperback books to be read, I'm currently reading 'Wool' by Hugh Howey. I really can't see this replacing me buying books from the book store completely, however I will now probably only buy books that are big series such as Game of Thrones as I think they look really nice on bookshelves...perhaps also because I'm a huge fan.

Good Things are a cruelty free brand along with this as are The Body Shop. In regards to the brand Yes To, they were originally cruelty free however I'm now not 100% sure of this.

  2. I own the Satsuma Body Mist too and it's really quite lovely. I don't wear it often because I don't wear scents often at all but when I do, it's always a nice little fruity pick-me-up. :)

    1. I haven't tried that one, I have seen it in store though and couldn't decide whether to try it or not at the time.

Tell me about it, I have purchased another book to read on it already! xx

  7. I love the body shop sprays but I find the scent doesn't linger very long at all! But I love the grapefruit one and the vanilla one for the colder months :)

    1. I agree, they don't last as long as I like which is a shame. I would definitely still buy them though purely because they smell so good! I would love to try the Vanilla one :) xx

  8. I really liked my ereader a lot more than I expected to. It's great for free books. I'm still on the fence about the Good Things stuff. I liked their moisturiser but I really didn't like the facemask or the wipes.

    1. I haven't tried their moisturiser but I have tried their clay mask and yes, I'm not a fan of that one either. It's nice but I can't see any improvement in my skin when I use it sadly xx

  11. I'm not 100% sure on this one, but I believe The Body Shop is owned by L'Oreal? And according to the Pixiwoos, L'Oreal tests on animals? :( Anyway, lovely post! I'm definitely gonna check out that eye gel, as I've been getting puffy eyes in the morning. Thanks! xx

    1. Hi Fernanda :) You're right, L'Oreal do own The Body Shop, this happened a few years ago now. They do test on animals indeed, it's such a shame as they tarnish the name of The Body Shop which has always remained anti animal testing.

To this day The Body Shop remains cruelty free, yet I understand some may not see them as cruelty free as their parent company is not. I guess it is personal opinion on these matters which actually can become very unclear and undefined. I personally do class The Body Shop as cruelty free but I more than acknowledge that others may not :)

The eye gel is lovely :) xx

  13. I have a kobo too and it made my life so much easier.. I was too a bit "hmm.. no it'd rather get a printed book" but after I started reading A Song of Ice and Fire and this series is not available in a pocket version in my country, I thought it would be better to carry a e-reader around than a nearly 1000 hard cover book around!

  15. Beautiful favourites! I haven't bought a Body Shop mist since I was a budding teenager. I need to pop along and get one for old times sake, and this sounds like my kind of fragrance! x
