August Favourites

My oh my I've never been this late in posting my favourite products of the month, quickly, let's get straight to it before October comes knocking on the door.

The Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser had been a product that I've wanted to try for quite a while. I originally purchased it back in April where until the beginning of August it sat in my draw unopened as I was determined to use up something else before I opened it up. Finally I can see why people harp on about this as after using the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser I can see no huge difference in the two barring a few things. I'd like to do a review comparing the two to be honest so I'll refrain from discussing that too much here, other than to say I think the Superdrug version would come out on top.

My new favourite clay mask arrives in the form of Superfacialist by Una Brennan. The Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask is thus far the best one I have tried...fact! I've tried a number in the past and this one I have to say gives me the best results yet, leaving my skin much clearer of congestion. A thoroughly fantastic product that I would happily repurchase again and again.

The Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray was a magazine freebie with Elle last month, it was a great little freebie as the brand I think is rather expensive so being able to try something for £4 was a bargain. I'm not a huge fan of the smell of this as it reminds me of something from the past which I can't quite put my finger on, yet the results of this are impressive with my hair having a lot more volume to it once I've blow dried my hair.

Hydraluron, Hydraluron, Hydraluron.....it has now become clear to me that I could never live without this stuff again, at least not for the foreseeable future as it is literally magic in a tube. This product has made such a difference to my skin since I started using this with my skin appearing much fuller and bouncy like it has so much more life in it. My dry patches have completely disappeared making the application of make up a dream again. Yes it is expensive (I have to say the tube is a bit bigger than I thought it was), I picked mine up on offer in Boots for £16 compared to the original price at £25, however after using it I would bite the bullet and pay full price for it in the future.

My Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation has taken a bit of battering throughout August and is continuing to do so throughout September. I cannot get enough of the stuff as to me it is a pretty good match to my skin tone as I do tend to find a lot of foundations for me are either a bit too dark or a bit too light. I used to adore my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 51 which if I'm very honest I do find it to be bit too yellow however, if I blend it quite a lot I can get away with it. The shade Vanilla in Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation is still quite a light shade but more importantly the yellow pigment within the foundation isn't as strong therefore it does work a bit better for me in respect to colour.

  1. I would have stayed away from a Superdrug skincare range but if it's that good I must give it a chance!

  6. I've recently bought the Vitamin E day and night creams, but haven't tried the cleanser yet. It sounds very intriguing though, and I'd be really interested to see how you think it compares to the Liz Earle one!

    1. There are pros and cons to both products really. If you want luxury then buy Liz Earle 100%, if you want something cheaper that works pretty well then definitely try the Superdrug one xx
