NARS Fairy's Kiss Palette

NARS Fairy's Kiss Palette

NARS Fairy's Kiss Palette

NARS Fairy's Kiss Palette
Last year one of my favourite make up brands NARS released two limited edition eye shadow palettes, these were called 'Ride Up to the Moon' and 'Fairy's Kiss' both from the Fall Collection. Priced at £35 each they were not very cheap however I had heard so many positive things about NARS eye shadows that I found myself really wanting to buy one. Due to the price I was so reluctant to purchase one of these as I thought it would be a bit too self-indulgent, especially seeing as Christmas wasn't too far away. This stance ultimately led me to deciding not to buy it as I didn't need it, for once I behaved.

Along came Christmas morning and low and behold there was NARS Fairy's Kiss sitting beautifully on my lap. My mom had clearly listened to me rave on about this palette and had ordered me it for Christmas, thank you mama!

Due to this particular release being a limited edition I have to say that sadly Fairy's Kiss is sold out online from what I can tell; you may find some here and there I guess on the likes of eBay though. The reason I'm posting this now despite this not being very easy to find any more is because I'd like to share my thoughts on the eye shadows. Having never tried eye shadows from NARS I have to admit I didn't know what to expect. After my first use I can assure you that I will not be holding off buying the gorgeous new Narssisit Palette that is being released on 1st February because if the eye shadows are as good as they are in the above palette then it certainly will be one not to miss out on. That palette will be a limited edition but will be available for a longer period of time according the the Narssisist tweet I received yesterday with availability being for six months.

NARS Fairy's Kiss Palette
The eye shadows in Fairy's Kiss are from left to right called Manosque, Kalahari, Brousse, Tokyo, Brumes and Pandora. I must apologise for the image above as it isn't one that I'm completely happy with however I'm finding swatches so hard to photograph at the moment, plus I didn't want to waste too much of my precious eye shadow on my arm. The eye shadows are a lot more pigmented than this image portrays I can assure you and are described by NARS as:

Manosque - Soft shimmer pink (Limited Edition).
Kalahari - Sugared Cocoa
Brousse - Black Violet (this has flecks of fushia pigments in it).
Tokyo - Lavender.
Brumes - Matte Charcoal.
Pandora - Matte Black.

These are super soft eye shadows that blend beautifully on the eye lid. I didn't quite realise how soft they would be so I have to be extra careful when I use these. I'm currently in the process of trying to create some looks with these as I would really like to start doing some face of the day posts here and there. I just hope my camera can capture a decent enough image as I find photographing eyes in particular really difficult.

As so often mentioned with NARS packaging it can get a little messy so to speak as it has a matte texture to it which will pick up any residue from your hands if you've being using foundation, concealer or even eye shadow. This is something to watch out for but hand on heart it doesn't bother me too much as it does wipe off.

I'm aware that this palette isn't easy to obtain now but there will be a gorgeous new release in February so if you're thinking of trying the brand I fully recommend it. Overall, these are not cheap products but the quality is second to none.
