Lily Lolo English Rose, ooh la la!

Mineral makeup is something that over the past year I have found myself wanting to explore just that little bit more. The soft powders and the light touch required sits rather well with me, particularly because I do sway towards a natural look.

Lily Lolo is one such brand based in the UK that produces mineral makeup, their products are free from parabens, dyes and synthetic fragrances and they're also BUAV approved too. Recently the brand has received a make over which has seen the packaging redesigned and some new products added to the collection. The presentation of the newly designed packaging is beautiful; it's simple, pretty and feminine and works perfectly against the name of the brand which I have to say I really like.

I was very kindly sent a couple of products to try and couldn't wait to experiment with them. The Mineral Blush in 'Ooh La La'* is a light weight mineral powder blush that can be built up to give a nice healthy spring glow to the cheeks. As you can see there is a little cap which prevents the mineral powder coming through into the lid, this allows you to control the amount you release each time which is extremely useful with products like this. The pigmentation was spot on; you could however easily be heavy handed with this if you pick too much up on your brush. I found that it blended really well resulting in this fast becoming a favourite blusher of mine for daytime use. At just £7.99 I think these are most certainly worth the money, they're beautiful on and remain upon the skin for a good few hours after application.

My relationship with lip glosses has been a rocky one in my past; I do think that they are some of the hardest products to get right as they can often just be too sticky for my liking. The Lily Lolo Natural Lip Gloss in English Rose* however has to be an exception here as I haven't found it to be sticky at all.
It's a really pretty delicate pink that works quite nice against my skin tone, I would however be curious to see what some of the slightly deeper shades would be like such as 'Bitten Pink'.

This lip gloss hasn't dried my lips out in anyway which may be down to some of the ingredients found within this product as it does contain vitamin e and organic jojoba which helps to protect and condition your lips. Retailing at £7.99 I think that this is a reasonable price for such a pretty lip gloss that looks really natural, has a gorgeous chocolate scent and most importantly of all it isn't sticky.

Above I'm wearing both the mineral blush 'Ooh La La' and the English Rose lip gloss. I paired these up with a simple winged liner, mascara, lots of concealer (sleep deprived) and my normal every day foundation.

  8. You look gorgeous - the blush gives such a lovely glow! I will have to look into the lipgloss as I am usually put off by their sticky qualities, but this sounds wonderful. And I have to agree, the packaging is great!x

  9. I haven't tried their products before but I'm definitely hoping to give some of their products a go. A little annoying that I can only get a hold of them by ordering online but I'm sure I'll be able to find enough swatches online to get an idea of what I'm getting.
Love your hair, by the way!
