LUSH Creamy Candy Bubble Bar

Just before Christmas I picked up a few things in Lush whilst I was in town, a purchase had long been overdue having only ever tried the bubble gum lip scrub and skin tint at the time. Admittedly I'm a Lush novice and often find myself rather overwhelmed in store, there are basins surrounded by products, tables mounted high, bright colours in every direction. More often than not I could simply do with a chair to sit down in just to take it all in and absorb the vast array of different products and scents surrounding me.

I did somehow manage to make it out of the shop with a few purchases however with one of those being the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. At the time I didn't really know how to use these but since then I have tried and used the Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar so felt confident with this one, they are after all really easy to use as all you have to do is crumble them under a running tap.

First of all this bubble bar smells incredible, it literally smells of candy as the name would suggest. I'm rather poor at trying to put across scents to you but it's one I recommend checking out scent wise in store. In regards to appearance I think that this is quite a cute looking product if indeed a product such as this can be cute. It's really pretty and feminine and would make a nice little gift to somebody or indeed as a little treat to yourself.

Having used this just the once so far I can report back that I was ever so slightly disappointed with it. My reason for disappointment is that I found this to not produce many bubbles which made me a little bit sad, especially when I compare it to the Christmas penguin as my experience was really positive with that particular bubble bar. It produced quite a few bubbles whilst only using a small amount of the product; in fact I managed to get a total of six baths out of it. Furthermore I noticed that the scent wasn't very noticeable when I used creamy candy which again left me feeling deflated because to me the scent is my favourite thing about this.

The one thing that I did notice with this bubble bar was how my skin felt afterwards. It was left feeling quite soft and moisturised which was a real positive after being initially disappointed with the product when I first put it into my bath. The almond oil and cocoa butter chunks supposedly melt on the surface of the water resulting in the skin feeling nice and soft. I personally didn't see any of these chunks melting but something sure did work because my skin felt truly lovely afterwards.

Perhaps it is a bit like an experiment when you buy a product from Lush, each product maybe works differently and therefore needs to be trialled and tested. Next time I reach for this product (which will be soon due to my slight addiction to the scent) I will use a bit more for my bath to see if it improves the experience.

For £2.50 this seems to me one of the more affordable products in Lush. Having said that I'm not too sure if I would re-buy it again as it all now rides on my next bath where I hope I will have a better experience with lots and lots of bubbles.

Lush is a cruelty free brand which is something I'd like to acknowledge here with a little mention of the campaign currently being run by the RSPCA. Make Over The World is a campaign which is helping to promote an end to animal testing for cosmetics worldwide. All you have to do to show your support is create a make up look or show off your skincare products with the hashtag #makeovertheworld'. Tweet it, share it on your Facebook page, maybe even your blog to help raise awareness. It would be great if you could also spare just one minute of your time to sign the petition too, I have!

  2. I have never tried any bubble bars from Lush, only their bath bombs, but this looks lovely! I wonder if it smells similar to Snow Fairy? That's what I'm imagining.

  4. Such a shame it wasn't brilliant- at least it wasn't horrific! But I know what you mean when you're disappointed with a product. It's a bit sad :-(

  6. I've had this one and it does smell really lovely but I agree, it doesn't produce as many bubbles as other ones from Lush. I signed the petition too! A great cause, testing needs to be stopped!

  7. This was one of the first bubble bars I tried from Lush and I don't know if it's due to that, or because I just love the smell of it so much, but I do so much adore this!

It smells really girly, but somewhat grown up girly and it's a bath product I tend to use before I go out somewhere special as the scent lingers on my skin for quite a while. :)

Rock Star soap has the same scent, which I love too. :D

  10. I do think sometimes the bubble bars are a bit on and off.. I don't know whether they've changed them slightly or I'm being paranoid but I've noticed with quite a few they don't give as many bubbles off as they used to. The scent of this one is gorgeous though!
