New and Untested

These days I'm cutting back on buying new things when it comes to skincare and make up therefore when I do I tend to get a little excited. Strictly speaking some of the items that I'm featuring today are products that I have recently purchased with a voucher that I won from taking part in a competition held by Sandra over on The Black Pearl about a month ago, a big thank you goes out to her.

The first product I chose was one that was completely and utterly inspired from Estée as I saw her mention the EOS Shave Cream in one of her latest videos. In all honesty it's a bit expensive for shaving foam, especially when I'm quite the fan of the Imperial Leather Foamburst Body Washes when it comes to shaving my legs. They are quite a bit cheaper however I did fancy a change from my usual choice therefore I decided to go with this to see what it would be like; I'll be back with an update in a few weeks.

Shower gels are more often than not the product that I will skimp out on nine times out of ten, this feels somewhat contradictory considering my previous paragraph so please do forgive me however I do find it hard to justify spending a lot on these as they end up down the drain in a matter of minutes. For a very long time now I have been a huge fan of the Original Source Shower Gels, they're fruity and smell absolutely incredible and what with them being just £1 in Boots at the moment it was rude not to pick one or two up. The scent above is a new one to me as in the past I've often stuck to my favourites which are Lime, Lemon and Mint therefore I'm really looking forward to trying something a bit calmer on the senses with the Vanilla and Raspberry offering that I have just purchased.

Melvita is a brand that I have wanted to try for a while so after doing a bit of research online I decided to go with the Melvita Rose Milky Cleansing Oil. In a way I'm hoping this is somewhat similar to one of my favourite skincare products by Una Brennan which is the Superfacialist Rose Hydrate Miracle Makeover Facial Oil. I'm aware that the latter does not turn into a milky cleanser like the Melvita Cleansing Oil however I'll see how I get on with this over the coming weeks.

The next two items are both inspired by beauty bloggers with the Organic Surge Spiced Lily Foaming Bath being one on my list ever since I saw Jennie mention it. The same goes for the Antipodes Manuka Honey Mask whereby if I were to list everybody that has made me want to try this over the last two years I would probably be here all morning.

My last two products were the result of going shopping with a friend on my day off this week. To be fair to us both it could have been a lot worse as we both walked out with just two lip products each of which so far I'm finding myself super impressed with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Peach Club as well as a much cheaper alternative in the Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream in Cotton Candy.

What have you purchased lately?

  9. I've been using the Milky Cleansing Oil for the past few weeks and I've fallen in love with it! It's very similar to the popular Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Oil which I've tried too, but I'll probably say I like the Melvita offering more :) it has a wonderful scent! x
