Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara 1 Bourjois 1 Seconde Mascara Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara

When it comes down to mascara I find that it's a beauty buy that I can afford to skimp out on, my reason for this is that I'm quite blessed with long eye lashes. Brands these days entice us in with many claims that our lashes will look super long, voluminous and red carpet worthy however I do tend to ignore this more often than not which results in me picking up whatever takes my fancy next. The only real thing I do look for when choosing mascara is any reference to separation because due to the fact I have long lashes any clumping that can occur will look ten times as bad. My lashes are long which is wonderful however they are rather unruly to say the least as they stick out in random angles therefore separation is a must.

Recently I have being testing out the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara* which is a new release that hit the stands last month. Bourjois claim that this mascara brushes lashes to the maximum and creates instant volume which sounds perfect to me however does it actually do that?

Starting off with the brush on this mascara, if you look very closely you can see that between the individual bristles there are small spheres which help to define each individual lash. From using this I would argue that this mascara does help to separate the lashes fairly well, in fact I was quite pleased with how my lashes were looking upon using this for the first time. What I did notice however is that if you go over your lashes more than three times, say perhaps you want to build it up more then you may run into trouble as I notice that some of my lashes started to stick together slightly. In terms of holding that initial curl I think this could have been a bit better as despite using my curlers beforehand I did find that this fell a bit flat which resulted in me picking up my curlers again afterwards; naughty I know.

I've relatively sensitive eyes and have made a mental note that this mascara hasn't irritated my eyes in any way since I started using it, this is of course a plus for me considering it is something I've had trouble with in the past with other brands off the high street. Come the end of the day I find that this is pretty easy and straight forward to remove with make up remover, again a plus, however having not tried the waterproof version I can't comment as to how easy that one is to remove.

Despite a couple of slight flaws I do like this mascara quite a lot, once it is on it looks nice and to me it has a soft, almost gentle look to it as opposed to the somewhat unnatural look that instantly reminds me of high school. Overall I think mascara is quite a personal choice because we all have different eye lashes of different lengths and indeed quirkiness (my one side constantly sticks out rather than curling like the other). We also all know what we want from this type of product, some of us want length, others volume therefore I find it hard whether to say to try this or not, having said that I'm pretty glad I have.

  18. I am quite the fan of Bourjois. I once used one of their chlorophyll foundations (actually not 100% if that is the name or anything ha) and was rather impressed. I love a natural eyelash look but I also love a KAPOW!! wow, look too ha
