Everyday Make Up

Everyday Makeup
My everyday makeup routine these days is rather consistent as I rarely break away from the norm on a weekday when the only place I'm going is to work. Looking back through my blog archives it has been a while since I did a post similar therefore I thought I'd share with you all what I have being reaching for on a daily basis.

I'll skip out primer here as to be honest I don't always use it, I find that it really depends on what foundation I'm using or which moisturiser I have applied. My current moisturiser is from the brand Bee Good, which I find works pretty well as a makeup base, if you're lucky you can win one too in my giveaway so make sure you enter if you fancy trying it.

When it comes to bases my favourite all around base has to be the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation, which despite the downside that it has no pump I can't help but adore this foundation. I use the shade Vanilla which for some reason is hard to find, only bigger Boots seem to stock this particular shade in my experience. As much as I'd like to wear a full coverage foundation that covers every imperfection I find that they are simply too heavy for me on a day to day basis. The Revlon Naked Foundation for me is light enough for my skin to breathe yet still provides adequate coverage for what I'm personally looking for. It's super affordable and holds up nicely throughout the day, plus the shade is a good match for me.

Sticking with coverage I have over the last few weeks being using the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer Pen, which I use to brighten up the outer corner of my eye area. This product is fabulous that's all I have to say on the matter, quite simply if you haven't yet tried it then you need to. I have to say the same applies to the 17 Stay Time Concealer; this has so far been a new favourite product of mine this year. Once my base is finished I like to put a light layer of the Bourjois Java Rice Powder on with my brush in order to set everything in place for the day. I do like this powder however I'm still on the hunt for something better.

For my eyes I tend to go relatively simple by using the Maybelline 24Hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze which has to be my all-time favourite cream eye shadow to date. Being such a huge fan of liner it is rare that I will be seen without it, whether it is liquid, gel or pencil there will always be something there to help define my eyes. My current liner of choice is the L'Oreal Perfect Slim which is working quite well for me at the moment although I have to say I'm really tempted to try the new Maybelline Lasting Drama Liner which is said to be a bit of a dupe for the new Benefit They're Real Push-up Liner. To finish off my eyes I don my lashes with a few swipes of the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara which is my favourite mascara from the high street.

For a nice hint of colour to my cheeks I've being using my Topshop Cream Blush in Head Over Heels. This is a super fun shade which can either be quite vibrant or blended out to be really soft and subtle; obviously I go for the latter. For the lips I'm normally wearing just a bit of lip balm for work although I'm quite partial to putting on my Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in the shade Candy Shimmer for a nice soft pink finish to the whole look.

So there we have it, my make up essentials for every day. What are yours?

  1. I use the Bourjois Rice Powder too and I quite like it, although I need something more matte for the t-zone. And I've been lusting after the Clarins Lip Perfector for forever!

  3. Some great choices, the Revlon Nearly Naked seems to be the foundation I'm constantly picking up at the moment too. It's so perfect as a light foundation that still adds a bit of coverage.

  6. I use the L'Oreal Perfect Slim as well and I love it, it's so easy! I've even (sort of) master the cat flick with it and that is saying something haha. The Lumi Magic Concealer sounds great too, I've been looking for a concealer lately so might pick that one up!

I love how simple your routine is! Does the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Conealer Pen covers dark circle?

  10. I hate foundations that don't come with a pump, I'm using the Revlon ColorStay at the moment and it's so awkward!! I really want to try the Nearly Naked, and the Bourjois Java Rice Powder. I love the look of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, as well. Lovely little routine Amy! :)

  11. I really enjoy using the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation but that's more of a spring and autumn foundation for me. In the summer, I've been loving powder foundations as it seems to last longer. xx

  12. I definitely need a BB Cream of some sort, a liquid eyeliner, a mascara and a red lipstick :) I chop and change almost everyday so I'm not very loyal to one particular product unless I'm planning to review it soon :)

  13. Yes I agree it isn't very good for those areas if you've oily skin, not in my experience anyway. The Lip Perfectors are really lovely, I was never a fan of gloss but there is just something about these x

  14. It's really nice, a little bit too scented for me but I can just about handle it x

  21. To an extent yes, to me I use it more as a way to brighten up the area rather than to conceal if that makes sense. It does a great job though, I think L'Oreal is on offer too at the moment x

  24. I have never really found a BB Cream that I adore, or a tinted moisturiser; the hunt continues! Everyone needs a red lipstick :D x

  25. The Maybelline Colour Tattoo is my absolute favourite too. It definitely can't be beat, I hope they bring out more wearable shades soon.
