Sample Savy

Samples
Over the last two years I have somehow accumulated a rather unhealthy amount of samples which are currently all stored in a Christmas gift box under my bed; fancy I know. After giving my friend free reign to take what she wanted I was still left with far too many therefore I have started the rather large task to try and use some of these up over the remainder of the year.

These have all built up from various trips to town where counters will provide you with samples, along with gift with purchases and of course magazine freebies. Beauty boxes that I have had in the past have often had lots of little products in too (my main reason for cancelling) so they have too found their way into my sample box.

Despite it all looking a little overwhelming I'm actually looking forward to trying some of the things in there. I've a tiny sample of the Origins GinZing Eye Cream which I received as a freebie from my one and only Origins order last year. This eye cream has been a product that I've wanted to try for an absolute age so that will definitely be the first thing I test out tomorrow morning. I'm also really keen to give the Merumaya Cleansing Balm a try considering that I'm now without one after I finished my only balm a few weeks ago.

So there we have it, I'm on a sample mission for the foreseeable future. Do you collect samples?

  3. I look forward to seeing how you get on. I started trying to get through my sample stash recently, it's quite fun! It's just a shame that some are so small it's barely enough to really give them a go.

  7. I have a few samples that I need to use up, I personally love samples as I get serious anxiety over the fact that I could be spending loads of money on products that I won't like.. So samples are a God send for me! xxx

  8. In a way I love samples, because it allows me to test a lot of things out without having to spend loads, but I'm always a bit scared that my skin will freak out from testing new products as it's really sensitive...

I'm really keen to try out the GinZing eye cream though!

  11. I love collecting samples, and its even better when a brand will let you take away a sample without even purchasing anything! My most recent sample was the NARS tinted moisturiser, and allow I loved it when I first put it on, it turned out it wasn't suitable for my skin type - something I wouldn't have known without a sample! Your stash of samples is completely understandable, what else is a beauty blogger to do?

  15. That first bit is so true, I feel super happy when that happens! Oh that's a shame however it would have been a lot worse if you had paid for the full price item and then realised that, it's lucky you had the sample xx

  18. I know what you mean, if the sample is from a brand I trust I'm generally happy to try it without thinking too much about it however if it is completely new or I haven't tried the brand before I tend to be a little wary xx

  19. They are such a good way to test products although I do feel some samples don't really provide enough product to get a good idea how it will work for you xx

  20. Haha I know what you mean!! Having said that looking through my samples for this post the majority of them have come from magazines and a few with online orders xx

  23. That is the only real problem with some of them isn't it. Some companies are very generous I think with the samples they give out whereas others can be a bit frugal to say the least xx
