Berry on a budget

Berry on a Budget
As much as I have enjoyed the warm weather we have been graced with this year here in the UK I can't deny that I'm extremely looking forward to autumn. To date I have looked at five scarves, three pairs of boots and about fifty million black coats, of which I've yet to buy any although kudos to me for being so determined so early right?

This year for me is all about a berry lip because if I'm truthful I have never really embraced it like so many others do. Yes I will happily wear it in a blog post for a review purpose but when it comes to going out I tend to shy away from it because it is so much bolder and out there compared to my normal go to lip colour. A year ago I wouldn't have dreamed about going out and about wearing such a bright statement lip however now I'm really not too worried about it at all.

Whilst I really do enjoy my higher end brands on occasion I can't help but be lured into Boots and Superdrug because there are some truly fantastic products available there which are just calling out to be tested. Seeing as I'll be returning back to university this September to start my Graduate Diploma in Law things will be once again be a little tight where money is concerned therefore I wanted to share with you some of the autumn products I will be turning to this autumn whilst being on a budget. This is quite appropriate timing as I know many of you who read my blog are currently starting or returning back to University in the coming weeks.

One of my all time favourite brands is Revlon so it's not a surprise to see their Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains gracing the stage. I'm a loyal fan to the original lip crayon from Revlon as none of the more recent releases have impressed me as much. Right down from the pigmentation, scent and longevity these have been a hit for me ever since they were released. My choice here is the shade crush which is a beautiful purple berry tone which can be built up or left relatively sheer. I reviewed this a while ago whereby if you would like to know more about the product then you can do so here.

I feel as though I should just rename my blog Rimmel 107 as I'm talking so much about this lipstick recently. For just under £6 I really do feel as though you're bagging a bargain with this lipstick as it really is superb; read as to why I love it so much here. I would never be someone to tell you that you should go out and buy something as that is not my place or the purpose of my blog however all I know is that I'm so very glad that I finally decided to pick this particular lipstick up.

To round this post up I'm leaving you with my all-time favourite berry toned nail polish which comes from one of the best brands around (in my opinion). The Barry M nail polish in the shade raspberry is a stunning deep berry red which looks glorious at any time of the year yet it is within the coming weeks when this nail polish will really stand out and shine.

What are your favourite autumn choices from the high street?

  4. The Just Bitten balms are rarely talked about these days but they're great and any berry shade is a winner in my books.

  12. I'm really looking forward to autumn too! I can't wait to wear burgundies and blacks and to wear black boots exclusively, lol! I'm starting to ease myself into the more autumny colours with some plums on eyes and lips... But I have to be braver about bolder lip shades too as I always stick to the sheer versions! ;) xx

  13. I can't wait for autumn, either - especially the make up! I haven't had the guts to try out anything as vibrant as a berry lip, yet, but your budget recommendations have seriously tempted me to give it a go xx
