The Muji Files | Part 3

The Muji Files Part 3
Initially I had planned on wrapping this series up before the New Year however I never quite got around to it in the end. Therefore here I am back with Muji draw three whereby this tends to consist of my eye pencils, mascaras and then a few other random products that I can't fit in anywhere else; if I'm honest it's a bit of a mish mash draw.

First and foremost when you're using eye liner pencils and eye brow pencils you are most certainly going to need a sharpener. Mine is from Bourjois and I have to say I've had it quite a while now. It's one of those things that people tend to forget about but for me it's pretty important as I do use pencil liners frequently. Speaking of pencil liners I have a few from Soap and Glory in here which are pretty great for definition on the lid however I'm not a fan of them for the waterline as I find that they bleed quite badly on me after a few hours resulting in the dreaded panda eyes, therefore I'm currently in the hunt for something better.

There are a couple of liquid liners floating around in there too, notably from Eyeko and L'Oreal whereby I have to say that neither have impressed me enough to make me want to repurchase them again. They're not bad liners but I know that I haven't found the one just yet.

Since taking this photograph I have actually removed some of the products in here as I had a clear out at the beginning of January. I've taken out Benefit They're Real as it was a bit old however this was a mascara that I really, really enjoyed using in the end so it is definitely a product that I'll be looking to replace at a later date. At the moment I'm using the Lancome Hypnose Mascara which is nice and works well for me but between me and you I do prefer Benefit They're Real as I think the definition I can achieve with the latter is much more significant.

My Illamasqua Eye Brow Cake in the shade 'Thunder' sits in here along with the Eye Liner Cake in Mislead. Mislead is really nice but requires much more effort on my part to use so as much as I hate to admit it it's often left sitting there all alone until I have time to use it. Due to the time needed to apply it and concentration (I'm not that good with liner at the best of times) it's not the liner I want to be reaching for at 7am in the morning.

The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze was sadly waved goodbye to in my January clear  as again this was a product that was a little bit too old. In getting rid of this I'm now left without any cream eye shadows which is something that I'm already missing, I really enjoyed using that as it was so simple and easy to use so I'm now looking for a cream eye shadow to replace it. Do I either repurchase this again or try one of the new Max Factor ones instead?

If you missed The Muji Files Part 1 or The Muji Files Part 2 then don't forget to check them out! I'd also like to take this opportunity to say a a BIG hello to everybody who is new to my blog, thank you for stopping by and sticking around!

  1. The best liquid eyeline I have ever used is Collection 2000 from Superdrug. It's so cheap and I've never found anything that lasts as long.

  2. I think I need to do a makeup cleanse, the Soap and Glory eyeliner is really lovely and easy to use but if you're after something cheaper, the Collection eyeliner is just as good but I find it's not as black as the S&G!

Benefit They're Real was a Mascara I didn't get on with. I passed mine along to a friend. I need to have a sort through my stash & get rid of things that are out of date

  5. Perhaps try the Rimmel Scandaleyes (I think!) liners- the one that everyone raves about in 'nude' is top of my shopping list. I've heard that they're dupes for the urban decay 24/7 so shouldn't bleed :)

  12. It is surprising how much you can fit in those drawers, I will be treating myself to some soon. I never knew S&G did eyeliners, what a shame they bleed out. I love their Mascara.

  13. I love the Soap & Glory mascara, that's my ultimate favourite :) I'm glad you got on better with the They're Real! mascara than I did, too. I'm loving the sound of On and On Bronze, it sounds so easy to wear.

  16. This is such a good post idea, really interesting to read! :) I'd repurchase the Maybelline cream shadow, I use on and on bronze almost everyday, couldn't be without it! The shades pink gold and permanent taupe are also really nice xx

  17. Love these posts it's like a sneaky peak into your collection and well I'm nosey like that. I had the Benefit they're real mascara for the longest time just sat around as I wasn't a fan then one day I picked it up and it worked so well for me! Sounds gross but I actually preferred it slightly dried out really did a fantastic job of adding some serious length to my lashes xx

  18. I used to use that such a long time ago but I agree, it was really good. At the time I used to struggle applying it as the brush was quite soft and flimsy (if I remember) however I wouldn't mind giving it a try again now x

  19. Supercat? I have used that before and enjoyed it however mind dried up quickly, maybe I just had a dud? x

  20. Me too they are fantastic! :) x

  23. That's a shame but hopefully your friend liked it! Oh I know, I found myself having to do that at the start of the year and I have to say I'm really glad I did :) x

  24. Oh really! I have the nude one but I wanted a black one, I've never noticed the nude one bleeding that much but I tend to pop that right onto my waterline, although it doesn't last that long on me. I've been recommended the Barry M one so I'm tempted to try that too x

  25. Me too Rachel, Muji is such a fantastic store to go into too, I really enjoy it x

  26. I completely agree Annabel, I use mine all of the time and I can hardly tell from looking at it. It'll go out of date before I can hit pan I'm pretty sure x

  27. Yes I liked it actually however the wand was the comb type which I normally don't go for myself. It is the Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara, although personally I think there are better ones out there xx

  28. Thank you Sophia! We can hunt for them together, let me know if you find one you like :) x

  29. They really can fit in quite a bit can't they. Thank you so much Megan :) x

  30. Yeh it is a shame, I really like them other than that as they are so pigmented and blend well so they're good for the top lid or under the eye if blending out x

  31. On and On Bronze is a product you have to try Jess, I think you would really like it x

  32. Thank you very much! On and On Bronze is so good, I'm tempted to re-purchase although the curiosity in me is saying to try the new Max Factor one. I had pink gold and loved it although I thought it looked a bit funny on me sadly x

  33. I love your honesty haha! I'm nosey too, I love peeking into make up collections. I agree, when They're Real dries out a bit it works even better than before x

  34. Yep I've tried that one Becky and I loved it however the only issue I had was that it dried out really quickly for me. I think perhaps I had a dud as I know a lot of people love that one x
