Pixi Skincare

Pixi Glow Tonic

Generally speaking, when a brand produces both skincare and make up products I am often left feeling somewhat sceptical. The reason for this, is that there are not many brands in my opinion that manage to pull off both well. Over the last few months I have being trying out a few skincare products from Pixi.

Last year, one product in particular managed to gain quite rapid coverage within the beauty community. The Pixi Glow Tonic* sold out online and became quite hard to pick up at one point. Now that the dust has settled and normality has resumed, I have decided to share my thoughts on this in order to see if it warranted the excitement that surrounds it. The Pixi Glow Tonic is essentially an exfoliating toner which contains 5% Glycolic Acid, this enables it to gently exfoliate the skin removing dead skin cells. Alongside this it also hydrates and soothes the skin, making it a multi-purpose product in my opinion.

Having now being using this for a number of weeks I must say that I have noticed a difference in my skin. It certainly looks clearer and indeed brighter, whereby I would even go as far to say that I have seen a reduction in blemishes too, which of course is most welcome. The Pixi Glow Tonic itself has a faint scent to it which is rather inoffensive; this isn't something I notice when I use it. It is also orange in colour but this does not transfer on to the cotton pad or the skin.

I like to use this of an evening once I have cleansed and before I use my eye cream and serum. Due to the fact that this does contain Gyloclic Acid I do refrain from using this every single day, as I don't want to subject my skin to too much.

Is it worth the hype? To me yes, it is making a visible difference to my skin which I am grateful for. Whilst it is not the most affordable product at a retail price of £18, it will last a little while, especially, if like me you opt to use this just two or three times a week.

Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm

Moving onto a more recent release from the brand, the Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm* has also been introduced into my skincare routine of late. This is a typical balm texture which is solid within the tub and melts as you apply it onto your skin. It works well to lift away make up and it feels really smooth and easy to apply. This will require you to use a face flannel of muslin cloth to remove the product with warm water, I wouldn't recommend you using just your hands due to the nature of the product.

Having read previous reviews of this in the past I had opened this with an ounce of trepidation. The reason for this being that so many had been left with a residue of this on their skin which they struggled to remove. Now, from my experience I have to say that I have not encountered this, however I do only use a 10p size amount so perhaps be frugal with what you use in order to have the best experience with this.

Overall both products have impressed me, so much so that I would happily explore the rest of the range in order to see what they have on offer.
