Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel Review

The Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel has to be one of the most talked about skincare products in the last six months. It has graced the blog pages of some of my favourite bloggers on more than one occasion, therefore it was only natural that I wanted to try it out for myself.

In a nut shell this is a gel cleanser which is peach in colour and to an extent, thick in texture. First and foremost, I like the fact that this is contained within a pump dispenser as it is easy to use and of course the product is kept as hygienic as possible. My only reservation is the fact that you can't see how much product you have left, which inevitably leads you to using up that last application rather unexpectedly.

That being said, that slight niggle can be over looked by the product itself. Fortified with a blend of high-tech natural ingredients which includes vitamins and nutrients, this cleanser aims to strengthen and revitalise the skin all whilst removing the daily build-up of grime. Upon researching the product more for review purposes I learnt more about pumpkin enzyme which is an ingredient within the cleanser. This works by purifying pores and dissolving the bonds which bind dead skin cells to the surface of your skin; it sounds fancy but so straight forward and obvious.

In fact, there are a whole heap of vitamins within this nifty little cleanser ranging from A, C and E which all in turn help to rejuvenate the skin and promote elasticity. Upon reflection there is a lot more science behind this product than I initially thought; it is more than just a basic gel cleanser.

Having now being using this on and off for a good year or so I have decided that ultimately it is a keeper. My skin feels great and looks great after I have used it, although in all honesty there is no chance that I will use this as a makeup remover; the reason for that being is that it is just too expensive to do so. This for me makes a great second cleanse, or a really nice morning cleanse as despite it being of a thick gel texture it is not heavy in the slightest. In fact, upon contact with water it does slightly foam up which makes it very easy to wash off.

Whilst I do not think this is a ground breaking product, I do like it a lot; but for one issue which I alone seem to have. The issue I have repeatedly with this product is that it makes my eyes sting if I get it too close which does somewhat spoil the experience of using it. As discussed, I don't use this to remove make up, however I certainly know about it if I get this a bit too close to my eyes. This for me is a bit of a catch 22 as whilst I enjoy using this and notice the results in doing so, I can't help but feel somewhat annoyed that it stings my eyes, especially at £29.50 a pop.

That being said, I know that when I finish my second bottle of this, I will most certainly be repurchasing; which I guess is testament in itself.

The Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is available from Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic and Space NK
