There is nothing quite like a new lipstick range to get me excited about beauty once more. What with the abundance of shades and finishes and of course new releases these days, it can often be quite difficult to narrow down the perfect lipstick for you. Of course having being writing about beauty for a little while now I have seen my fair share of makeup launches, that being said, the Too Faced La Crème Colour Drenched Lipsticks are new to me.
The Too Faced La Crème Colour Drenched Lipstick* range has recently been reformulated, in which both the formula and finish have been improved. Having never tried the original formula I am unable to comment as to how they performed, however, this new range has impressed me thus far. The range has been brought together to form a total of twenty on-trend shades; ten of which are brand new releases this season.
Seven of the new shades are featured below. Four of them I would describe as being cream finishes, whereas the other three are metallic. The former shades are typically the type of finish I would wear as a metallic lip can be quite hard to pull off in my opinion, especially during normal everyday life. That being said, they are all still relatively wearable and could easily work on a night out.
There are a nice array of tones here which range from nudes to pinks and berry shades. They are all beautiful in their own way and would work on a variety of different skin tones. The Too Faced La Crème Colour Drenched Lipsticks are formulated with white lotus flower extract which is a known antioxidant which helps to hydrate and soothe, this is of course ideal for any lip product.
My personal experience of this range so far has been pretty good, they are all very comfortable to wear and each shade glides on beautifully. The darker shades that I have here such as Ursula and Wham are more pigmented than the nude shades, which of course is generally the case anyway. That being said, I personally do prefer the nude shades as these are typically what I go for when choosing a new lipstick. Sugar Daddy in particular is utterly beautiful and well worth checking out if you are a fan of a nude lip, whereas Double Bubble is the complete contrast to this and provides the perfect bubble gum pink shade if that is what you lean towards.
In terms of longevity I think that these are of the standard which I have come to expect when paying more for a lipstick product. Naturally, due to the formula being of a cream finish they are much less likely to last as long on as opposed to a matte texture. I have found that after a couple of hours I have wished to top up the colour, even more so after eating and drinking because it does come off relatively easily.
The packaging is of course a big pull factor when stepping away from the high street and looking for a product which is more luxurious. The Too Faced La Crème Colour Drenched Lipsticks, are, in my opinion beautifully presented within their gold finish casing, they're also quite heavy too for a lipstick which is something I appreciate.
Too Faced is of course a premium brand, therefore it goes without saying that the Too Faced La Crème Colour Drenched Lipsticks are not purse friendly at £18 each. That being said, the quality is there and so is the presentation which is what one would come to expect from such a brand.
Too Faced from my experience isn't always that easy to obtain in the UK, however I do note that Debenhams now stock them both online and in some of their department stores, therefore it is well worth checking them out if you get chance. A little birdie tells me they do great eye shadows too, although I have yet to try those for myself.
